Our Motto: Do something big, or do something small, because doing something is better than nothing at all.

About Us

Our History

NW Florida Cat Advocates is more than just a nonprofit cat rescue—it's a heartfelt mission inspired by our very first feline family member, Salem. Rescued as an orphaned newborn kitten in 2021, Salem's story ignited a journey that has defined our purpose: to advocate for the welfare of cats in our community and beyond. Our journey opened our eyes to the profound suffering caused by the unchecked cycle of unspayed and unneutered cats. Determined to make a difference, we immersed ourselves in learning, scouring articles, videos, and seeking guidance from veterinary professionals and fellow rescuers. Armed with knowledge and fueled by compassion, we embarked on a mission to address the root causes of feline overpopulation.

Our Current Work

At NW Florida Cat Advocates, our approach is multifaceted. We selectively foster a limited number of cats and kittens, providing them with love, care, and a temporary home. We also tend to two small feral/stray colonies and ahve implemented TNR (trap-neuter-vaccinate-return) practices to curb overpopulation and improve the lives of these community cats. At our home, our little sanctuary serves as a haven for a handful of cats who, for medical or behavioral reasons, have not had luck finding their forever homes. Here, they thrive alongside other sanctuary residents, cherished for the unique individuals they are.
As a nonprofit organization, our work is sustained by the generosity of donors and volunteers. Every contribution, whether big or small, enables us to continue our mission and expand our impact.

Our Future Goals

We believe in the power of collective action. Through education, outreach, and advocacy, we strive to inspire others to join us in our cause. Whether it's fostering a cat, practicing TNR in your neighborhood, or simply spreading awareness, every effort counts. Together, let's make a difference—one purr at a time. Join us in our mission to create a world where every cat is valued, cherished, and given the love and care they deserve.
